How to clean a gas grill with minimal effort?

A step by step approach to clean your greasy gas grill:

[acf field=”how_to”]

Step 1: Gather all of the cleaning essentials

The very first step before starting the cleaning process is to gather all of the cleaning essentials. Get yourself a wire brush, wire scrubber, dishwashing liquid or soap, a sponge, and water. Make sure that you have an apposite running water supply.  Instead of a wire scrubber, you also have an option to go for a folded aluminum foil.

Step 2: Turn the flame on for 15 minutes.

Now you have to keep the high flame on for almost 15 minutes. This will help you to make the cleanup process even quicker. Since turning the flame on will turn any leftover piece of meat and grease to ashes. Plus, when the chamber is fully heated, then upon scrubbing, it will give off all of the grease and stickiness easily. But take care of your hand; it may burn due to hot grates.

Try to scrub the grates thoroughly because these are ones to catch most of the greasy residues.

Step 3: Remove the tops and go to the bottom cooking grates

Firstly, remove the tops carefully and then smoothly scrub the bottom and top grates with the scrubber or the folded aluminum foil. This will remove all of the stickiness and greasy food residues from the top of the grates giving them a clean and tidy look.

Step 4: Come towards the burner

Before putting your hands on the burners, make sure that you have turned off the main gas supply. Plus, remove the propane tank hose as well. Place these burner covers into Luke’s warm water with an added soap solution in it. After few minutes, take the scrubber or foil and rub the burner covers to remove any debris mounted upon them. Once clean, now place those fragile covers aside.

Steps 5: Clean the residual tray

Modern gas grills come with a collecting tray that collects the drippings and juices from your grilling food and keeps your griller safer. But you have to take ample care of that tray. You simply have to take that tray out and scrape it carefully. Now soak it into soapy water to clean the stubborn stains effectively. Use a sponge for cleaning this tray effectively.

Step 6: Cleaning and polishing

Once all of the parts are done, go for the cleaning of outer body parts before completion of the process. Take that ordinary dishwashing soap or liquid and, using a sponge clean your burner all over. Once you are done, give it a polish as well if available otherwise, only fine washing would be enough.

Step 7: Reassemble the burner.

So, finally, you are done with the complete cleaning, and now you have a clean and fresh-looking gas grill in front of you which is ready to use. Now you have to reassemble the parts carefully. If you are having any difficulty with them, you may refer to the manual for your assistance. Add the gas connection, and you are all done.

Benefits of cleaning your gas grill frequently.

We would say that if you remain successful in keeping your gas grill grease-free and keep on doing frequent spot cleaning, this may be advantageous for your grill in many aspects.

Let us tell you about some of the benefits of regular cleaning of your gas grill.

  • Removes stickiness and harmful substances
  • No irritating smell transfers into your food
  • Extends the life of your grill to many folds
  • Give your kitchen a fresher look

Final verdict

On the whole, just upon following some of the easy steps, you will eventually get a fresh-looking grill at once. This will not only keep your grill to stay with you for a longer span but will also give a pleasant sight to you while daily cooking.
